"Gunmemans" 13 miles Trail in Manowkari

It was a sunny in on the Sunday of August August 5th when I decided to walked again to one of my favourite Manokwari City trail - Gunung Meja. But this sunday I was thinking to explore another trial package to connect two icon of Manokwari tourism destination: Gunung Meja and Mansinal Island. So I named my trail as Gunmemans trail - or Gunung Meja - Pulau Mansinam trail. Sounds funny yeah? :-). Well at least may be I was the 1st man to name this trail. Hehehehe.

As usual the trip began in the Jl. Gunung Salju Amban, follow the smooth road (this is good now) of UNIPA student houses and get to the broken entrance doors of Gunung Meja park. As some of you could found in my previous story, it was so sad that nothing much change in this mountain after almost a year I'm not doing a trail here again. The new fancy thing I found was a big billboard mentioning the lists of species and short notices of warning to the visitors. This is a critical prove showing that many forester and forestry officers in Manokwari not actually success or care about forests. I took an hour long walks through the main roads of Gunung Meja. Sometime I stopped in several points while waiting for the Birds. I heard some voices and saw some birds which I don't know what is it species - but at least I learned that I needs a bird guide book and binocular despite of I'm a real bird watcher.

This sunday I spent 4 hours walks taking about 13 miles trip from Gunung Meja to the Mansinam Island. I chosen to explore another spot of snorkelling in Manokwari that I'm not visited yet so I took long trip to the south end of the Island. I found the good recommended snorkelling spots. Even though I wasn't lucky yet because when I got the beach, the wave and winds were high.

The new found trail provides a goods scene of Manokwari, the roads connecting Gunung Meja and short walk to the wooden pier to get Mansiman are so beauty. The full pictures of forests in Gunung Meja, the Japaness Monument, Birds playing, winds by the sea, island landscape, whites sand beaches and beautiful corral reef are the full potency. Japaness cave monument was the witness of war world two. Few meter after the exit gate of Gunung Meja, I stopped in the hill of Bupati House where I enjoyed the bright view of Manokwari city roads, beach and houses are clearly seen from this hill. Quite place with smooth roads and beautiful panoramas in this hill made me relax for a while before continued my trip through Kampung Ambon to the to kwawi - the pier to get Mansinam.

And of course it is cheap. I only spent at leasts 30,000 Rupiah or about $ 2USD for the full day fun ---- it is because I brough waters and foods in my bag. :-) --- that certainly the recommended options for the cheapest trail as I always do. This amount are to covers the round trip boats and the 'Ojek" to get back to the houses.

I totally recommend this trail for you visits Manokwari and consider to spent half day enjoy the forests, island and the beach of Manokwari.
